When are we here? And where do we go?
From a longing to let go and let presence be disrupted – to falling in love with the inability to distinguish what is real, simulated, or imagined.

Those Who Shimmer explores states of mind where presence is thrown off balance. Here, different types of pressures, collapses, and densities – hollows – are explored in the spatial, physical, and sensorial realms.

With atmospheres that relate to each other in opposition – the poetic and the clinical, the grandiose and the stripped, the foggy and the crisp – Those Who Shimmer seeks a human presence through staged fantasies and dances, oscillating in and out of consciousness like a hypnotic state.

The work draws inspiration from group hypnosis, exploring both its fascinating and skeptical aspects. The piece reflects on the movements and dynamics observed in hypnotic states, while engaging with the choreographic potential inherent in such states of mind.

Call of the void, originated from french “L'appel du vide”, an expression that describes the sudden urge to jump off a cliff, crash a car or get in front of a train.

It´s been said an urge to jump affirms the urge to live.

GLIMT - Gnistrande Låtsasregn i Monumentala Texturer

How long is a moment? Is it that very special instant, or is it really a constant stream of moments flowing endlessly? What gaze is in a glimpse? Is it the sparkle in the eye? And where exactly does that sparkle reside?

GLIMPSE creates make-believe rain of moments, tiny fleeting seconds that softly fall around us. We find ourselves in the eye of the weather, amidst monumental and everyday landscapes where the dance twists and turns while we yearn to catch a glimpse of magic.
A tribute to what cannot be crafted but must be allowed to emerge. The performance is inspired by weather metaphors, misunderstood proverbs, and the extraordinary present.

STM_IRL Spaces is a collaboration with Riksteatern Väst running 2020/2021. The project continue the explorations that started with STM Film series, in appropriating on 3D animations with material and choreography.
In this process we emphasize our work around public, constructed and imaginary spaces as contexts and content.

The experiments resulted in three concepts that we will continue working on separate. One to be developed into a live performance for stage/blackbox, one that is in dialogue with its surroundings, one that creates an immersive VR/360 space that can take you everywhere and nowhere.

A peculiar group invites the audience on a mind-boggling experience where logic has lost its grip and time blows wherever it wants. LOOP revolts against the rules of reality, where dance bends time and space and smiles at the possibilities of fiction.

LOOP is a tribute to each and every one's force of imagination and to the power of dance to take us there. A piece inspired by surrealism, children's drawings, video games and time machines.

Part 1: K-Complex

An installation of choreography surrounded by fiction and hypnosis.

”K-complex consists of a brief negative high-voltage peak, followed by a slower positive complex and at 900 ms a final negative peak. K-complexes occur roughly every 1.0–1.7 minutes and are often followed by bursts of sleep spindles. They occur spontaneously but also occur in response to external stimuli such as sounds, touches on the skin and internal ones such as inspiratory interruptions.” - wikipedia

Dystopian Animation

Imagining recycling as a means of existence in a not-so-distant future, Dystopian Animation is a residency concept, sculptural process, and performative piece that brings discarded materials to life through collection, construction, and choreography.

Using rubber as the primary up-cycled material, and reclaimed choreographic phrases as building blocks for a new sequence, they create and perform with six human-scale, interactive sculptures. As they re-form and re-animate the rubber, they will explore the material’s dichotomous nature as natural and synthetic, sappy-white and carbon-black; fluid and rigid, beneficial and plethoric.

SURREALISTIC AND SYNTHETIC EXPRESSIONS MEET THE HUMAN WORLD

The exhibition is a collection of works created under the title "Skinning True Mesh". The work is based on an exploration of the aesthetic impact of digital and 3D-animated media on the analog body-centered media; choreography and fashion design. Between 2018-2021, the collaboration has resulted in several projects, at Temporary Stabilisations in Gamlestan a selection is exhibited that includes photography, film and installation.

SKINNING TRUE MESH_collection consists of the film series 'Skinning True Mesh 16: 9 full time texture', which was created together with the filmmaker Joakim Envik Karlsson. The series used a blanc film studio to get as close to the digital expression as possible.

One question that arose during the process of the film series and its characters was; What would it mean to place these seemingly surreal "animated" forms in an organic naturalistic environment? This became the starting point for a new work where Linnea x Nicole explored the contexts of exteriors around Gothenburg. It resulted in the photo series STM_gbg captured by Jim De Block.

And a couple of tactile memories from their various collaborations with SKINNING TRUE MESH.

STM16:9FTT_VR is a continuation of the project Skinning / True Mesh / 16:9 Full Time Texture. We further explore alternative bodies with movement and material. The project initally appropriates on 3D animation.

In this 360 film we place our surrealistic bodies in a naturalistic context and then shove it back into a format that is not live. This format viewed thru 360 glasses that aspire for an experience closer to reality than 2D film. It creates a discussion of our human conception of synthetic/real/organic/surreal.

STM16:9FTT_VR is a collaboration with Joakim Envik Karlsson and Linnea Bågander.
The pilot project is part of Narrative VR Lab, Gothenburg . Funded by Kultur i Halland, Göteborgs Stad and Visual Arena, Lindholmen.

PINK BLOOD was a solo research project at DOCH, summer residency 2018.

With performers Markus Almqvist, Tobias Ulfvebrand och Martin Hasselgren we created a new piece based on the classic music for Nutcracker and in collaboration with Aja Arkitektur (Aron Fidjeland and Jakob Wiklander) we worked with big scale foamrubber scenography. This project was initiated and performed with Malmö Symfoniorkester in 2016.
 

A collaboration with performer Rickard Fredborg, musicians Axel Croné and Anna Lovdal and poet Ronja Möller. Inspired by outer space, alians and a united world were we are all dots anyways.

MARK created a series of site-specific works. The major piece was performed in Harplinge Väderkvarn. A co-production between Harp Art Lab Sweden, Sao Vento Brazil och MARK. MARK includes performers Tilde Nielsen, Sara Kaustinen, Loredana Manfrè, Sarah Hedegaard, Rickard Fredborg an myself.
